Every December, Urbanna dresses up in its holiday best. Wreaths go on doors, bows on fences, lights in windows—and the heart of our small waterfront town beats bright. The Urbanna Holiday Home Tour has long been a tradition that brings neighbors, friends, and visitors together to celebrate the season while honoring the character of our town.
This year, on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 from 11 AM–4 PM, we are excited to welcome you back for a holiday tour that blends history, beauty, and community spirit.
Five Homes, One Charming Town
This year’s tour features five uniquely selected homes, each decorated for the season and sharing its own story of architecture, restoration, and warm hospitality:
- The Marble House – Recently restored to reflect its elegant history, this landmark home will be a favorite for lovers of timeless design.
- Atherston Hall – A beautifully renovated historic home once known as a beloved bed & breakfast.
- The Johnson Home – A waterfront stunner built in 1979, offering a gorgeous view of Urbanna Creek.
- The Cove House – A classic, tucked-away 1948 home that brings cozy coastal charm to the season.
- The Carter Home – A Victorian home built in the 1890s, currently being lovingly restored by its owners. It will also serve as this year’s check-in location (first floor open to tour guests).
Historic Gems Open for the Day
In addition to the featured homes, tour guests will also enjoy:
- The James Mills Scottish Factor Store & Museum – Step into 18th-century Urbanna and explore original features and exhibits telling the story of our port town.
- Landsdowne – One of the most historically significant homes in Virginia, showcasing exceptional Georgian architecture and original interior woodwork.
These sites offer a rare chance to connect with Urbanna’s deep colonial roots and the enduring stories of the people who have called it home.
More Than a Tour—A Celebration of Community
The Holiday Home Tour is Urbanna Main Street’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting our mission:
“Empowering Urbanna’s future through sustainable investments in tourism and economic growth to foster community in our historic port town.”
Funds raised help support:
- Beautification efforts
- Wayfinding signage projects
- Public art, including our ongoing mural initiative
- Community partnerships, events, and revitalization programming
This tour is about more than holiday décor—it’s about celebrating our shared history, supporting our town’s future, and inviting others to experience the magic of Urbanna.
